PMO Efforts to Support FAS's Continuous Improvement Goal

In support of FAS’s effort to promote a culture of continuous improvement at UCSF, the UCSF Program Management Office (PMO) is offering a growing array of activities and resources intended to help UCSF employees learn about, utilize, and share their experiences with the Lean approach to continuous improvement. Our goal is to foster a community of problem-solvers seeking to build “improvement muscle” through practice, discussion, and active collaboration. Below are a few continuous improvement activities and resources currently available to the UCSF community:

“UCSF Continuous Improvement” Salesforce Chatter Group – This online group exists on the UCSF Chatter platform, and is dedicated to supporting UCSF staff engaged in continuous improvement efforts (official or otherwise). Whether you're an old hand at continuous improvement or a newcomer with lots to learn, we invite you to join, explore, and participate in this space!

UCSF’s Business Process Improvement Website (improve.ucsf.edu) – This PMO-administered site hosts a variety of resources for UCSF employees wanting to learn more about Lean and business process improvement. Tools on the site include a do-it-yourself guide to process improvement projects, template documents, and a comprehensive facilitator’s handbook. The PMO will be updating and expanding the site over the month of May to include new sections focused specifically on Lean tools and principles.
