Academic Learning Management System - Discovery Phase

The Academic Learning Management System (LMS) is mission-critical software that supports the development, delivery, assessment, and administration of curriculum in face-to-face, blended, or online learning environments.

As revealed through a formal Needs Assessment commissioned by the Committee on Educational Technology (CET) in 2016, the Academic LMS is not fully meeting the teaching and learning needs at UCSF.  One of the needs highlighted was the desire to engage an LMS that supports the growing online education environment.  PMO was engaged to manage the project which included (a) providing a review of campus resources available for online education along with a proposed strategic direction; (b) collecting and analyzing LMS business requirements; (c) evaluating and selecting an appropriate LMS product; (d) provide scoping and budget estimates for the implementation of the selected product with the consideration of UCSF specific integration concerns across existing technology ecosystems.
