About: Following a reorganization, the Tissue Core Lab needed an internal review of current conditions to identify ways to increase customer value, reduce waste, and demonstrate respect for people. The PMO conducted several sessions with staff and managers from the Tissue Core Lab to learn about LEAN methodology and how to use simple improvement tools.
- Mapped the current high-level process and reviewed effectiveness
- Prioritized problem areas to address, brainstormed and prioritized ideas
- Identified rapid changes for key areas
- Created an action plan with tasks to improve processes for technicians in the lab and ultimately the end customer
